SugarMamma’s Financial Foreplay

Tough Honest Financial Love - My advice to help organise a single mother’s finances & prepare for retirement asap

August 24, 2020

If I sound tough or mean, it is done with love and care, to help this lovely, kind and sweet mother use the time now to help get her finances in order so that she can have a decent retirement. What we think we need for retirement verses what you really need for retirement are often two very different numbers when you factor in inflation, cost of living and longevity. The quicker you can get on top of your finances, the better. Every dollar counts and it is amazing the difference you can do when you put your head, heart and mind towards achieving a few simple short term goals, that lead you to one big exciting powerful goal.

I have a range of calculators to help you on the SugarMamma website and I share lots of investment ideas and strategies in my latest book, Mindful Money. Please also note that this is general advice only and the discussion of contributions (salary sacrifice and after tax contributions) is for illustration purposes only to see what helps achieve a better financial outcome and it not final or personal advice.

Also, please note that no advice was given, we were simply discussing the long term impact of contributions and different types of contributions. It is important to get professional financial advice so that you can work out the best balance between salary sacrificing and after tax contributions. Sometimes salary sacrificing can help you qualify for additional tax benefits but there is also 15% contributions tax to consider. For this lady, she liked the control she had with making her own after tax contributions in combination with salary sacrificing.

Make sure you are following me on Instagram @sugarmammaTV as this is where I provide all the links to my podcasts, videos, blog posts and a daily dose of financial inspiration and motivation. All made with love for you...and please don't forget to leave a review xCC
